The Food and Beverage department within the Rubens at the Palace is now recruiting for a Commis Chef to join the team.

The Rubens at the Palace Hotel is a stunning four star deluxe property located in the heart of London’s Victoria. This wonderful hotel features 161 individually designed bedrooms and suites, an established bar and lounge, two restaurants- one having a 2AA rosette and 9 function rooms where we are offering our guests a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. 

Key responsibilities of the Commis Chef will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and production of menus
  • Preparing dishes to the required standard and specification
  • Minimising wastage at all times
  • Ensuring that kitchen stations are kept clean, safe and hygienic at all times
  • Being responsible for securing the kitchen when on a late shift

The ideal candidate for the Commis Chef position will enjoy working within a friendly and productive team and have excellent communication skills. This is a full time position with shifts varying between Monday and Sunday.

The ideal candidate for the Commis Chef  position should:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role within a four or five star hotel or fine dinning restaurant
  • Have a good health and safety and food hygiene awareness  
  • Have good knowledge of using a wide range of kitchen equipment 
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Be positive, proactive, reliable and have a flexible attitude
