The Minotaur at Royal Opera House

Harrison Birtwistle's acclaimed opera The Minotaur is coming to the Royal Opera House from January 17th to 28th 2013.

Originally debuting in 2008, the show is a dark and beautiful reworking of one of the most famous Greek myths, following the hero Theseus on a journey through an imposing labyrinth to battle the eponymous bull-headed monster.

Unlike other versions of the story, this show focuses on the troubled psyche of the Minotaur itself, showing the creature's tortured humanity through a powerful central performance by John Tomlinson.

Featuring a libretto by David Harsent and elegant designs from Alison Chitty, the show lasts for two hours and 40 minutes and is performed in English with surtitles.

Those staying at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel this January will be able to take advantage of the One More Night deal, which allows those booking a stay of five nights or more to stay on an extra evening for no additional cost.

It is perfect for those who find themselves reluctant to leave once they experience the opulence of the luxury London hotel.
