Kafka Fragments, the literature-inspired work from Hungarian contemporary composer Gyorgy Kurtag, will be performed at the Royal Opera House from March 28th to 30th 2013.

The piece is assembled from 40 miniature compositions that range in length from seconds to minutes, with each based on the letters, diaries and notebooks of Franz Kafka, the influential German author.

Director Netia Jones has integrated live visual projections and performances into her new staging of this intellectually-engaging work, which features soprano vocals in German accompanied by a solo violin.

It is performed by singer Claire Booth and violinist Peter Manning, with each concert lasting approximately one hour.
