Nabucco at the Royal Opera House

Nabucco, one of Giuseppe Verdi's operatic masterpieces, will be brought to life in a new production at the Royal Opera House from March 30th to April 26th 2013.

Directed by Daniele Abbado, this new version of the Babylonian epic updates the storyline to the late 20th century, re-framing its themes of identity, exile and religious power in new and interesting ways.

Nabucco tells the story of the eponymous Babylonian ruler who vows to destroy Jerusalem and the Israelites when his daughter Fenena is kidnapped, aided by the vengeful and complex antihero Abigaille.

Abbado's production features a star turn from Leo Nucci in the lead role and employs large-scale video projections that offer a counterpoint to the action on stage.

A different but no less entertaining stage experience can be enjoyed by luxury London hotel guests who book a Billy Elliot the Musical package at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel.

This deal includes two tickets to the popular West End show, plus a pre-theatre dinner, a signed programme and a glass of Champagne on arrival.
