Capriccio in Concert at the Royal Opera House

  • Category: Music & Theatre
  • Dates: Friday, 19 July 2013 to Sunday, 21 July 2013

Luxury London hotel guests will be able to see a concert performance of Richard Strauss' opera Capriccio from July 19th to 21st 2013.

The great German composer's final opera, Capriccio made its debut in 1942 and is well known for its amazing soprano melodies and highly emotional and melancholic overtones.

It tells the story of a group of artists who assemble to perform an opera to win the heart of the countess Madeleine, causing tensions to emerge between the different protagonists.

The work's strong focus on its libretto and accomplished score lends itself ideally to a concert performance, with the show set to run for two hours and 15 minutes without an interval.

It could be perfect for people enjoying a Live Like Royalty package at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel, which includes full English breakfasts daily and a Champagne afternoon tea, as well as two tickets to the Queen's Gallery and Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace.
