Lowry and the Painting of Modern Life at Tate Britain

  • Category: Art & Culture
  • Dates: Wednesday, 26 June 2013 to Sunday, 20 October 2013

Admirers of the works of the great British painter LS Lowry will be able to see an exhibition dedicated to his work at Tate Britain from June 26th to October 20th 2013.

Entitled Lowry and the Painting of Modern Life, the display focuses on the best of Lowry's urban scenes and industrial landscapes and will provide an opportunity to reconsider the artist's contribution to Britain's cultural history.

It will examine his various influences - including 19th century French painting - and the way in which he was able to use these inspirations to create unique and important portraits of working class life in the 20th century.

Standard tickets to see the exhibition cost £16.50, with a number of accompanying talks to take place at the venue on selected dates.

Luxury London hotel guests can get a full overview of British culture by attending this show while enjoying a Live Like Royalty package at The Rubens at the Palace Hotel.

The deal includes two tickets to the Queen's Gallery and Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, plus daily English breakfasts and a Champagne afternoon tea.
