20140212 Exploring the Extremes

  • Category: Family Fun
  • Dates: Sunday, 02 March 2014 to Sunday, 02 November 2014

This new exhibition for the kids explores the wacky and wonderful ways plants and animals adapt to the most extreme conditions, with plenty of fun opportunities to get involved.

Creatures living in places from the Arctic to the Sahara Desert are explored through hands-on experiences, games and challenges.

Attendees can see how fat they are compared to a seal, feel how the air conditioning inside an ostrich beak feels and even try to drink as quickly as a camel.

The exhibition offers plenty of enjoyment for all the family and will be running until November 2nd at the Horniman Museum. It is open from 10:30am daily and adults are charged at £6.60 while children are admitted for £3.30. A family ticket is available for £16.50.

Once you've finished having a wild time of it, head back to The Rubens at the Palace where the kids can carry on with the fun as part of the Families at the Rubens package.
