Event: The Real Food Festival

A brand new food event is scheduled to take place at London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre this April that may well appeal to guests staying at nearby luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.

The four-day Real Food Festival is due to take place from April 24th until April 27th 2008, with the ethos of the event being to bring people closer to "carefully selected food and drink that is good, clean and fair".

Around 500 hand-picked small producers who have not been seen at larger events will be on show at the festival.

Organisers note that good, clean and fair means that food should taste good, not harm the environment during its production, not damage human or animal health and producers should receive fair pay for their labour.

A wine fair featuring more than 100 small manufacturers should appeal to guests of luxury London hotel the Rubens with a palate for zingy whites and robust reds.

Eager chefs will also have the opportunity to receive direct tuition from Barny Haughton, head chef at Bristol's Bordeaux Quay.
