Event: Pygmalion at The Old Vic
Date: May 7th 2008 until August 2nd 2008
Luxury London hotel The Rubens at the Palace is located so near to The Old Vic that there can be no logical reason for guests of the hotel not to watch the upcoming classic Pygmalion when it shows at the theatre this May.
From May 7th 2008 until August 2nd 2008, Sir Peter Hall's version of Bernard Shaw's rags to riches tale of Pygmalion will run at the theatre featuring new talent and familiar faces.
Previously having run at the Theatre Royal Bath, this latest performance at The Old Vic will be much more accessible for guests of luxury London hotel The Rubens at the Palace.
Newcomer Michelle Dockery takes to the boards as Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle who is the subject of a bet between "arrogant" phonetics professor Henry Higgins and his friend Colonel Pickering.
Higgins - played by Old Vic veteran Tim Pigott-Smith - wagers that he can transform Doolittle into a lady in the production, which is described as "funny", "fast moving" and "touching" by the Daily Express.
Non-residents of the nearby luxury London hotel can always enjoy a pre-show drink at The Rubens at the Palace.
