RHS Chelsea Flower Show

This May sees the return of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, an event that takes place not far from luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace and that endorses itself as the "ultimate event" in the gardening calendar.

The 2008 RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be held from May 20th until May 24th at Royal Hospital, Chelsea, and aims to set new trends in gardening while also promoting gardening products and its wide array of colourful and scented plants.

A major theme this year is wildlife and how to encourage animals, birds and other creatures into your garden.

Highlights of the nature section of the show include The Children's Society Garden which features self-seeding plants and a shallow pool, both of which work to attract bees and butterflies to the garden.

Others include the River and Rowing Museum: Ratty's Refuge feature which hopes to encourage more water voles to gardens and the Summer Solstice section which uses hedging to create a habitat for wildlife.

After the event, before heading back to the Rubens why not enjoy a cocktail or a bite to eat at bbar.
