Event: The Seven Deadly Sins/Carmen/Danse a grande vitesse
Date: January 31st until February 21st
Guests at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace keen to see a production with a twist this winter will not want to miss the Seven Deadly Sins/Carmen/Danse a grande vitesse plays at the Royal Opera House, which combine variety and vivacity in equal measure.
Canadian-American singer/songwriter Martha Wainwright will take to the stage in a revival of Will Tuckett's interpretation of Kurt Weill's anti-capitalist piece The Seven Deadly Sins.
Two roles filled by a singer and a dancer will tell the tale of the main protagonist Anna as she journeys through the temptations offered by US cities, set to a wonderful score of music, ranging from the symphonic to 1930s popular.
Next up on the bill is Mats Ek's Carmen, a charming and witty piece depicting the life of a happy-go-lucky gypsy who chews men up and spits them out as and when she pleases.
Rounding off the show will be the first revival of Christopher Wheeldon's DGV: Danse a grande vitesse, which sees a number of dancers display wonderful energy and choreographed moves in order to transport the audience to a variety of landscapes and to bring home the feeling of being suspended in space and time.
Couples enjoying a romantic break can relax at the Egerton before and after the show and take advantage of the perks offered by the hotel's Get More From Your Stay package, which includes a late checkout, a bottle of chilled champagne, a two-course pre-theatre meal and tickets to the London Eye, plus much more.
