Event: Baroque 1620-1800 - Style in the Age of Magnificence
Date: April 4th until 19th July
Visitors to the capital in April will have the opportunity to experience opulence, magnificence and class in two different locations.
The first is at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace, a hotel which stands head and shoulders above anywhere else in the city.
By booking the Suite Dreams package, guests can experience comfort and quality beyond their wildest dreams, while enjoying a bottle of house champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries followed by a three-course table d'hote meal.
The second place where opulence will be on the menu is at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V and A), which is hosting the Baroque 1620-1800 - Style in the Age of Magnificence exhibition at the start of April.
One of the most magnificent styles of the 17th and 18th centuries, the Baroque era was characterised by complexity and attention to detail.
In the V and A exhibition, the different elements which made it such a splendid time will be explored, with the Rome of Borromini and Bernini and the Versailles of Louis X1V used to highlight what it was all about.
There will also be a number of paintings on display from Rubens and Tiepolo, as well as furniture, portraits and sculpture from a host of artists.
