They say all that glitters is not gold, but at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace, what you see is what you get.

That means class, quality and comfort for all those who walk through the doors, with the Suite Dreams package providing guests with treats such as champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries and a three-course table d'hote meal for two.

The sparkle is not just confined to the Rubens, however, as visitors can see some of the most exquisite jewels and gems in the world on display across the capital early next month at the Coutts London Jewellery Week.

While the event is famous for presenting rings, earrings and other precious items from world-renowned designers, it also provides a platform for emerging talent to show their creative skills and vision.

So while the likes of Stephen Webster and Shaun Leane, whose work has graced the necks and wrists of A-list stars Christina Aguilera and Liv Tyler, will have work on show, so will stars of tomorrow like Amanda Brighton and Assya.

As well as admiring all these sparkling diamonds, there will also be a city-wide treasure hunt with prizes provided by some of the capital's top jewellers.
