Event: Waterloo Weekend
Date: June 20th and 21st
To mark the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, history lovers are invited to Apsley House and Wellington Arch for the Waterloo Weekend, a colourful family day out featuring military parades, family activities and much more.
They are also invited to the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace for a wonderful stay which will include fabulous accommodation, a continental breakfast, a sightseeing tour of the capital and two tickets for the London Eye, courtesy of the Go See London package.
Waterloo Weekend promises something for everybody, making it a great occasion for a family break.
As well as enjoying military displays, visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the redcoats, with Captain Abs the star of the show, taking people through the history of the battle and using vegetables as props.
There is also the chance to come face-to-face with a soldier straight from the battlefield and hear what life was like during the Napoleonic Wars.
Completing the feast of historical fun will be the redcoats parade, with a regiment from Wellington's army practicing their drills.
