Event: Javier Mariscal - Drawing Life
Date: July 1st until October 18th
Spanish artist Javier Mariscal has crafted a reputation for himself as one of the most innovative and original designers alive today, with his body of work including everything from kooky cartoons to gorgeous furniture.
Famed for giving Barcelona a graphic identity following the trauma of the Franco era, Mariscal also designed Cobi, the official mascot of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
Now he is bringing his artistic vision to London with an exhibition which will give fans a journey through his thought processes and inspirations.
The Design Museum will become a fully-illustrated environment, with sketches, photographs, films and designs on show in a series of orchestrated scenarios and installations.
To leave an impression on his faithful London following, Mariscal will also create an elaborate mural for the exterior of the museum.
Couples on a weekend break who plan to attend this exhibition will need somewhere to stay afterwards and for a place which boasts class, quality and style in equal measure, look no further than the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.
The Suite Dreams package is perfect for lovers, with a bottle of champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries and a three-course table d'hote dinner for two included.
