Visit the State Rooms in Buckingham Palace

Event: Visit the State Rooms
Date: August to September

Buckingham Palace has been the official residence of British sovereigns since 1837 and is one of the biggest draws for tourists from all over the world who long to see for themselves this famous and iconic part of London.

Many people rarely set foot within its walls, but there is an opportunity to do so available for everyone.

There are 19 State Rooms which are open from August to September, giving fans of the monarchy and those simply interested the chance to look around and experience something few people around the world have explored.

Today, the rooms are used by the Queen to receive and entertain guests on state, ceremonial and official occasions.

They form the heart of the working palace and boast some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Poussins and Rubens.

Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed to stay at the palace, but that is not a problem, as just around the corner is the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.

All guests are given the royal treatment and those who book the Summer at the Palace package will be given a picnic hamper packed full of goodies to enjoy in the royal parks.
