A dark comedy is coming to London and theatre fans will want to move quickly to secure tickets and accommodation, as demand for both is likely to be fierce.

Prick Up Your Ears, starring Little Britain's Matt Lucas, is set in 1962 and follows the story of Kenneth Halliwell and Joe Orton, graduates from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, who have their hearts set on turning London's literary scene on its head.

Their crusade is to "improve" local library books and radio dramas, jazzing them up with plenty of innuendo.

However, their paths fork in different directions, with Joe set to become the most notorious comic playwright since Oscar Wilde, while Ken stays indoors redecorating.
