Othello remains one of Shakespeare's most celebrated plays and a favourite for theatre goers around the world.

The Northern Broadsides and West Yorkshire Playhouse production of the tale is heading to the capital, with TV funnyman Lenny Henry starring in the title role.

A tale of racism, desire and jealousy, every inch of the human condition is explored when the noble Othello is betrayed by the jealous Iago, whose blind rage at being shunned for promotion leads to a diabolical plot to exact his revenge.

This monumental tragedy sees the brave and victorious Othello kill the most important person in his life after falling into his disgruntled lieutenant's web of deceit, bringing a heartbreaking, intense and poignant ending to a play whose exploration of racism and love remains relevant to the present day.
