Event: Free Art Fair
Date: October 12th until 18th
This year's Free Art Fair will be the last time that those living in the capital will be given the opportunity to collect works of art for no cost at all.
In its short history, the event established itself as a serious alternative to the commercial art fair frenzy, with the aim being to remind people that a piece of art is worth more than just its monetary price.
Some of the most acclaimed national and international artists will make their works available, including Marlene Dumas, Robin Mason, Harry Pye and Geraldine Swayne.
What these individuals will bring with them are artworks which are a response to the concept of being free, with each creating unique pieces and making the work they have always wanted to, without commercial constraints.
With so much fine art available, those from outside the capital will need to stay in the capital for a few nights at least.
That is where the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace comes in.
Not only is the hotel close to the Barbican Centre - just a 15-minute journey - it also has the perfect offer for those planning a short break.
With the 3 Nights for the Price of 2 package, guests are treated to a unique suite and a third night absolutely free, giving them an extra day to pick up some free art.
