Event: Something in the Air
Date: April 23rd to May 8th
Prospero was once a highly-respected and much-loved Duke of Milan, a glorious city in Italy where he and his young daughter Miranda enjoyed all the trappings that nobility brings.
However, not everyone adored the nobleman, least of all his own brother Antonio who, along with the King of Naples Alonso, seizes Propsero and his daughter and cast them out to sea on an open boat.
The pair eventually land on a desert island and begin their lives again.
One day Propsero learns that his great rivals are at sea and using his magical powers, he creates a tempest which smashes their vessel and sees them wash up on the same shores he did 12 years earlier.
He then engages in a game of cat and mouse, luring the backstabbers closer to him so he can take his revenge.
The Tempest is one of William Shakespeare's best loved plays and a very accessible one for children just starting to become familiar with the great man's work.
With a wonderful soundtrack and powerful production, the Unicorn Theatre's staging of the play promises to be a great night for all.
After introducing their young ones to the joys of the theatre, parents can show them what a truly wonderful experience staying in a top-quality hotel can be by booking a stay at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.
Guests who opt for the Fun 4 All the Family package can book one room and save up to 50 per cent on a second, with complimentary in-room movies and a games console also included.
