Ernesto Neto: The Edges of the World and the New Décor at the Hayward Gallery

Event: Ernesto Neto: The Edges of the World and the New Décor
Date: June 19th to September 5th

The Hayward Gallery has been closed for a couple of months to allow for essential repair work.

In June, it will announce its reopening in spectacular style with two new exhibitions.

The first sees Ernesto Neto, the leader of Brazil's contemporary art scene, take over the upper galleries and outdoor sculpture terraces with specially-commissioned installations in his signature bold and abstract style.

Having established himself as one of the most cutting-edge artists to emerge in recent years, the exhibition promises to be both spectacular and thought provoking in equal measure.

The second part of the Hayward's reopening is the New Décor showcase.

Dismantling the borders between interior design, sculpture and installation art, the exhibition sees 30 contemporary artists present objects that look as though they belong in a fantastical model home.

Highlights include a bed based on a Los Angeles freeway and a chandelier that has been inspired by science fiction.

While abstract design is interesting and thought provoking, traditional style and elegance still has a place in this world and the luxury London hotel is an example of it done well.

Guests who book the Get More From Your Stay package can enjoy a full English breakfast in addition to either a romantic turndown complete with chocolate-dipped strawberries, a three-course carvery dinner or a bottle of pink Champagne on arrival.
