La Bete at the Comedy Theatre

A comic tour de force will take over the capital's Comedy Theatre this summer, promising lots of laughs and entertainment for guests staying at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.

David Hirson's La Bete debuted to much acclaim in 1991 and has gone on to scoop many accolades in its time, including both Tony and Emmy awards.

The story centres on Elomire - a high-minded classical dramatist whose one true love is the magic of the theatre - and Valere, a low-brow street clown in love with himself and nobody else.

They are thrown into a battle for survival when the fickle princess decides she is tired of Elomire's royal theatre troupe.

Art faces off against ego in a literary showdown which will have the audience on the edge of their seats the whole evening.

When the play comes to an end, visitors can return to the Rubens at the Palace and enjoy the delights of the Get More From Your Stay package, which includes a full English breakfast in addition to either a bottle of Pink Champagne, a three-course carvery dinner or a romantic turndown with chocolate-dipped strawberries.
