Event: Toy Tales
Date: Until September 5th
We all had our favourite cartoon characters when were children and can remember how much fun it was to go with them on their various magical adventures.
Whether it was joining the greatest secret agent in the world Dangermouse and his trusty sidekick Penfold in fighting Baron Silas Greenback or watching Jerry continually make Tom's life a misery, cartoons provided each and every one of us with hours of fun.
It may have been a long time ago but the great memories of our favourite characters live on and those who want to take a trip down memory lane can do so at a special exhibition currently showing in the capital.
The Cartoon Museum's Toy Sales showcase looks back at over 50 years of great British animated cartoons, ranging from the Clangers and Ivor the Engine to Dangermouse and Bagpuss.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see more than 100 items, including set backgrounds, character cut-outs and posters, as well as gaining an insight into script writing, storyboards and animation techniques.
This is not just a chance for mum and dad to reminisce about their school days, as the exhibition also includes props and other items from modern-day classics ranging from Bob the Builder to Wallace and Gromit.
It makes for a wonderful family day out and to make the whole break even more special, mum, dad and the kids can treat themselves to a one-of-a-kind experience at the luxury London hotel the Rubens at the Palace.
With the Fun 4 All the Family package, guests who book one room get a second at half price, with complimentary in-room movies and a games console to keep the kids occupied while mum and dad reminisce about their favourite old cartoons.
