From now until 10th February each guest staying can avail of a complimentary late check-out time of 6pm.

Whether guests are coming for business or pleasure, for the weekend or a little longer, guests need not worry about waking up early, frantically packing, or missing breakfast on the day of their departure. No, the Rubens at the Palace would like you to relax, sleep in, laze about, take a bath or a morning stroll in the park, do some last minute shopping or sightseeing and generally make the most of your last day in London at the Rubens.

No need to worry about rushing down for an early breakfast either. Any guest that doesn’t make breakfast in the restaurant that morning will still be able to enjoy a hearty breakfast as the Rubens will serve delicious bacon and egg butties, orange juice and coffee all day.

The complimentary late check-out is available to all guests staying in any of the Rubens luxury rooms or suites, whether it’s a splendid classic double, a regal executive king, or a sumptuous suite the late checkout applies to all ensuring that the only bags you leave with are your luggage.

The Rubens at the Palace, part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is dedicating this August to its young guests. The Rubens is turning one of its conference suites to different use over the school holidays and is launching a cinema, screening some family favourite films.

The Jubilee Suite at the Rubens at the Palace will become a complimentary children’s cinema for the whole month of August, with movies shown daily at 4pm and 7pm. With an extensive selection of movies available, children will be greatly entertained and assured movies won’t be repeated often. There are of course the classics and firm favourites such as Shrek, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story I, II and III, Scooby Doo and Aladdin, which will be shown at 4pm. For the ‘big’ kids, the later viewings at 7pm will have movies such as The Princess Diaries, School of Rock, Freaky Friday, The Simpsons Movie, and of course Harry Potter I, II, III, IV and V available.

Each guest will receive a complimentary box of popcorn, a carton of juice, and either a bag of sweets or an ice lolly for the movie. A delicious Princes and Princesses menu is available at the Cavalry Bar, which includes kids’ favourites, macaroni and cheese, ham and cheese toasties and mini fish and chips. For dessert, children can delve into ever popular chocolate fudge sundaes, banana milkshakes or chunky fresh fruit with yoghurt.

Further to the cinema, the Rubens at the Palace has appointed a Director of Fun and Adventure who will ensure every young guest gets a fun guided tour of the hotel, and a very special visit to the pastry kitchen where children can ice and decorate their very own cupcake. Also in preparation for a long day of sightseeing, the Director of Fun and Adventure will provide each young guest with a personal rucksack and packed lunch which will keep little ones sustained from one fun London attraction to the next.

The Leopard Bar, adjoining the Palace Lounge at Red Carnation’s Rubens Hotel, is sure to be a popular addition to the new generation of Champagne bars that are springing up across London.

Conveniently, close to Victoria Station, and looking out over the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, the location has much to recommend it. But the main attraction is the warm, inviting and intimate atmosphere that’s more reminiscent of a private club than a public bar. The wood panelled walls, tall mirrors, African prints and elegant safari-chic design scheme echo the famous Leopard Room Bar at the sibling Hotel d’Angleterre in Geneva. This makes it the ideal venue for a romantic rendezvous, catching up on the gossip with a close friend or two, or an exclusive celebration.

There are 15 Champagnes to choose from, 11 of which are available by the flute. The main sponsor is Laurent Perrier however guests can also enjoy Dom Perignon, Louis Roederer Cristal, and Veuve Cliquot, plus a selection of classic Champagne cocktails. This unashamedly old- fashioned space is below stairs, intimate, candlelit and complete with bookcases behind glass.
