The Rubens at the Palace is proud to serve PMD Golden Tips, a luxury tea that sold for an unprecedented price of £10,12 s. 6d per lb in 1891 – today, that would equate to  £1,260 per lb. 

Fully handcrafted and handpicked by expert tea pluckers at sunset in Sri Lanka, the velvety, silvery tips are carefully turned into gold and sundried on a velvet cloth. 

With white glove service, this delicate tea is weighed at The Rubens using golden scales; each tip is placed into the teapot individually with golden tweezers. The tea, which is showcased in a mahogany box lined with velvet, is infused with Belu still water to produce an extraordinary liquour and a smooth, light and mellow texture, with hints of fruity notes.

To complete this unique experience, you will be offered a glass of Champagne on arrival and enjoy a Royal Afternoon Tea.

Leopard Bar Sushi

Chef Suren's Omakase
Throughout September

Join us in The Leopard Bar for Chef Suren's Omakase 21 course menu with Champagne for two. Bespoke individual menus will be designed, following an initial discussion with Chef Suren to establish your personal likes and dislikes. Dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients, such as premium Otoro and Akami Tuna.

The Leopard Bar's intimate atmosphere provides the ideal setting, sitting directly opposite Chef Suren makes for an exhilarating dining experience.

Sushi and sashimi experience
Throughout September

Discover our exceptional sushi and sashimi experience, created by Chef Suren and uniquely served on beautiful tiered stands. Enjoy a delicious selection of sushi and sashimi, all made to order in front of you, including the signature spicy tuna roll, made with premium otoro and akami tuna. Chef Suren trained at Hakkasan and Gilgamesh and joins The Rubens at the Palace with over 10 years of experience in Japanese cuisine. Head bartender Silviu has paired the sushi and sashimi with the highest quality sake, the most notable of which is the Koto Premium Sake Umeshu, made with the finest Shirakaga plums.

Personalised sushi, sashimi and saké experience

Learn more about the Japanese delicacies in this intimate experience.

Enjoy a Signature Japanese Leopard Bar Cocktail on arrival and a sushi and sashimi stand to share. The stand will be paired with three expertly chosen Saké wines to compliment the flavours. You will learn more about the different fish used and watch a live demonstration of Rubens Signature Spicy Tuna Roll by our Head Chef Suren, who will then guide you though making your own. Enjoy live Jazz music throughout the evening.

Gin tasting

Unique gin and tonic experience
Throughout September

Join us for a unique experience with our expert resident mixologist who will guide you through an innovative and exciting gin experience. We will be offering three sensational tasting opportunities where you will sample carefully selected gins ranging from dry, to citrus to spiced varieties accompanied by a selection of complementary tonic water pairings.

£60 per person, or £75 per person for a Gin Experience and sharing platter.

Champagne and famous steak sandwich
Throughout September

Unwind and relax in the Leopard Bar, an elegant venue with an unrivalled menu of over 200 Whiskies and 30 Champagnes against a backdrop of live jazz and swing music.

You’ll also witness the art of Sabrage, the ceremonial technique of opening a bottle with a sabre

Enjoy three sensational tasting journeys from full, fruity single malts, to deep peat flavours. Each Whisky voyage is accompanied by a platter of cheeses and chocolate truffles.
